CHARTER
FOR THE
 
MUNICIPALITY OF SHEFFIELD LAKE
LORAIN COUNTY, OHIO
PREAMBLE
   We, the people of the Municipality of Sheffield Lake, County of Lorain and State of Ohio, in order to secure ourselves the benefits of Municipal Home Rule and to exercise all the powers of local self-government under the Constitution and Laws of the State of Ohio, do hereby adopt this Charter for our Municipality. The male pronoun or adjective wherever used in this Charter refers to both the male and female unless otherwise specifically indicated. Likewise, the female pronoun or adjective wherever used in this Charter refers to both the male and female unless otherwise specifically indicated. The term two-thirds of the remaining members of Council wherever used in the Charter of the City of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, shall mean and be defined as a majority of the voting members of Council excluding the President of Council plus one additional voting member of Council.
